A Bronx Tale
The neighborhood that Collogero grew up in had many defined rules and ways of living. These certain "unwritten rules" are passed down through generations of family and friends. As Collogero gets older he learns more about the actions people around him make. This social construction evolved over time and was passed down. In the movie, Collogero tries as hard as he could to not be racist, but he couldn't help but act the way he was raised and effected from his neighborhood. His neighborhood is very racist as well as his family, so his words and actions reflect that no matter how hard he tried to fight it. These racists ideas are constructed into the neightborhood and shape how they are supposed to act towards black people. The environment you grow up in defines your personalty in a number of ways.

I agree, no matter how hard Collogero tried not to be a racist, he still found himself saying racist things, like when he fought with Jane and her brother. And the same goes for Lorenzo, when Collogero asked him what he thought about him dating a girl of a different race and he said that he is not prejudice, though he was. their neighborhoods racism has influenced them
his tongue might say racist stuff but his soul is not racist n dat makes collegro a cool kid. like when u call someone "gay" but they are not "gay" you just say that as an insult but u don't mean it. hope that makes sense. peace
