Tuesdays with Morrie
In the movie Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch sees work as his priority in life. Work comes before anything else in Mitch's life, even the woman he loves. Mitch sees success as making money and furthering his career. He would consider himself to be successful in this sense. However, others may seem him as a failure because he neglects the other aspects in his life, like keeping in touch with friends and spending time with the one you love. Fulfilling those values is also defined as being successful, but many Americans do not realize that. Making a lot of money seems to be the American Dream. When you ask people what they want to be when they're older, they are choosing careers that make the most money, such as a doctor or lawyer. Although this is a cliche, money doesn't really make you happy. That is why people need to focus on the things that do make them happy instead of stressing out over work.
